Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Lead/Float Phlebotomist to cover PSCs across locations, ensuring timely, accurate blood collection and data entry. You will support coverage for PTO, vacancies, and new center openings while delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Associate degree or college classes welcomed.
• ASCP phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
• One+ year experience in lab Patient Service Centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent phlebotomy and related services for all patients.
• Validate or update patient demographics and orders in the LIS system.
• Collect specimens by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to a BILH laboratory.
• Perform administrative duties to open/close the PSC daily.
• Assist in training, coaching, and mentoring PSC Phlebotomists.
• Travel to additional PSCs and doctor sites as needed.
• Read, understand, and follow departmental policies and procedures.
• Report to Phlebotomy Supervisor and take direction for assigned PSC.
• Participate in lab QA, competency assessments, and continuing education.
• Provide high patient and provider satisfaction through quality service.
• Perform other similar duties as requested by supervisor or manager.
