Job summary

Barrington James is seeking a licensed Pharmacist in Charge to lead operations at our client’s 503A sterile compounding pharmacy. The PIC will ensure safe, compliant, high-quality compounded medications and oversee all pharmacy activities.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, maintaining SOPs, and ensuring compliance with USP standards and state board regulations, while coordinating with prescribers and leadership to support service quality and growth.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and staff supervision abilities.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• In-depth knowledge of USP <797>, <795>, <800> and state board regs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated PIC and ensure compliance with state board regs and USP standards.
• Oversee sterile compounding operations, aseptic technique, cleanrooms, and dating.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce SOPs and QA programs; train staff.
• Supervise pharmacists and technicians; evaluate performance.
• Verify prescriptions and compounding records; ensure documentation.
