Job summary

UNITAS is seeking a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) in Nashville, TN to provide clinical, regulatory, and operational leadership for a state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacy specializing in sterile preparations.

You will ensure compliance with Federal/state laws and USP standards, lead sterile operations, manage QA, and supervise pharmacists and technicians to uphold safety and quality. Competitive hourly compensation is offered; Monday–Friday schedule with on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D. from an accredited school.
• Current, active pharmacist license in the state of practice.
• Meets all state requirements to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for a 503A facility.
• Demonstrated experience in sterile compounding and knowledge of USP standards.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, cleanroom operations, environmental monitoring, QA.
• Strong understanding of pharmacy law, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Leadership, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and electronic documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regulatory compliance and pharmacy oversight under applicable laws and Board regulations.
• Lead daily sterile compounding operations and maintain quality standards.
• Develop and maintain QA programs, CAPA, and documentation review.
• Provide personnel management and training for sterile compounding staff.
• Oversee medication safety, prescription review, and final verification.
• Manage equipment, facilities, inventory, and environmental monitoring.
• Maintain records, SOPs, and communications with regulatory authorities.
