Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Principal Engineer Electronics - Payloads to join our on-site team. This role supports a payloads subsystem under the subsystem engineering lead and program manager, with travel up to 10%.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with 3–5 years (or advanced degrees) of related experience, hands-on payload systems work, and strong systems integration and supplier management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline with 5 years of related engineering experience, or advanced degrees with fewer years.
• Experience with payload systems.
• Technical development and systems integration experience.
• Experience in supplier management.
• Active TS SCI security clearance (with SAP clearance eligibility).

Responsibilities

• Readiness reviews, training coordination, and communication with test directors.
• Prepare test briefs and debriefs; coordinate security and test activities.
• Post-test review, data validation, and troubleshooting of hardware/software.
• Pre-test support including test planning and ensuring objectives stay within specs.
