Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Sr. Principal Payloads Electronics Engineer to lead the Supplier Management Team (SMT). The role is located in San Diego or Palmdale, CA, on-site with no remote option. Travel up to 25% is required.

The SMT Lead coordinates diverse engineers and support staff to oversee supplier performance across proposal through sustainment and reports to IPT/Program Managers. A strong government contract background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in STEM with 8+ years of related experience, or Master’s with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years of experience.
• Active US Government Top-Secret Clearance with SCI/ SAP eligibility.
• Experience managing suppliers on government/DoD contracts and familiarity with product lifecycles and government acquisition processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate SMT activities across engineers, subcontract administrator, QA reps, logistics engineers, CAM, scheduler, and material planner.
• Manage all phases of supplier performance: planning, proposals, development, production, testing, deliveries, sustainment.
• Review supplier documentation and report supplier status to Program Managers and IPT management.
