Job summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in California seeks a Sr. Principal Payloads Electronics Engineer to lead the Supplier Management Team (SMT). The role supports the IPT and Global Supply Chain, located in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo) or Palmdale.
On-site work is required with travel up to 25%. The SMT Lead coordinates multi-disciplinary teams and drives supplier performance across planning, development, production, testing, and sustainment, while ensuring compliance with government
Qualifications
- Bachelor/Master/PhD in a STEM field with relevant experience.
- Active US Top Secret clearance (SCI and SAP eligibility).
- Extensive supplier management experience in DoD/government contracts.
- Ability to coordinate with technical staff, customers, and partners.
- Experience with project/program management and controls.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate SMT activities across engineers, subcontract admin, QA, logistics, and planning teams.
- Lead planning, proposals, development, production, testing, deliveries, and sustainment of supplier performance.
- Review supplier documentation including evaluations, test procedures, cost/schedule reports, and software releases.
- Report supplier status to Program Managers, GSC managers, and IPT Management.
