Job summary

Allan Myers is seeking a Paving Superintendent with strong milling and paving knowledge and proven leadership to deliver complex heavy civil projects in Virginia.

You will organize field teams, optimize productivity, manage equipment, and uphold safety and quality on schedule and budget.

Requirements include 6+ years in milling/paving with 2+ years as Superintendent, OSHA-30, and a valid driver’s license; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree preferred ( Civil Eng / Construction Mgmt )
• Minimum 6 years milling/paving experience with at least 2 years in a Superintendent role
• OSHA 30-hour certification required (or be enrolled within 6 months)
• Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical proficiency in milling and paving operations.
• Understand plan details, estimates, man-hour budgets and production rates.
• Plan and organize work to maximize crew productivity; set staffing for each phase.
• Supervise field managers; mentor in leading crews; optimize equipment utilization.
• Review job costs with Project/Field Managers and adjust as needed.
• Adhere to Allan Myers Safety Program and ensure proper PPE and incident reporting.
• Coordinate with Field Managers, other Superintendents, and customers to implement project plans.
• Inspect construction work to ensure quality standards.
• Manage coordination with asphalt plants, trucking dispatchers, and MOT teams.
