Job summary

Allan Myers Inc. is seeking a hard-working Paving Superintendent with strong milling and paving knowledge and proven leadership to deliver heavy civil projects.

You will lead field crews, manage plans, and coordinate with owners, engineers, and subcontractors to meet safety, quality, and schedule goals. Ideal candidates have 6+ years in milling/paving, 2+ years in superintendent roles, OSHA 30 hours, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of milling and paving experience with at least 2 years in a Superintendent role.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required (or enroll in a certification course within 6 months).
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical proficiency in milling and paving operations.
• Understands project plans, estimates, man-hours, and production rates.
• Plans work to maximize crew productivity; staffing for each phase of the project.
• Supervises field managers; mentors crews and optimizes equipment utilization.
• Reviews job cost with Project/Field Managers and implements adjustments.
• Follows Allan Myers Safety Program including planning, PPE, and incident reporting.
• Coordinates with Field Managers, other Superintendents, and the customer to execute project plans.
• Maintains professional relationships with owner, engineer, and construction team.
• Inspects work to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Manages coordination with asphalt plants, trucking dispatchers, and MOT teams.
