Job summary

Neighborhood Healthcare in Escondido, CA is seeking a Lead Patient Services Representative to coordinate PSRs, manage patient flow, and support registration and front desk operations. You will coach and develop the team, handle billing liaison, ensure accurate schedules, and maintain a high-quality patient experience in a busy clinic.

Two years of patient services in medical/dental settings and bilingual English/Spanish are preferred; ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Two years’ patient services experience within medical and/or dental office.
• Two years’ experience working with electronic medical records and multi-phone lines.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must be part of the dental PSR team to qualify.

Responsibilities

• Provides functional direction to assigned PSRs, including scheduling assignments, coordinating workflows, and assigning priorities
• Maintains courteous relations with patients and staff, responds to appointments/front desk complaints and problems
• Acts as liaison between billing office and site
• Supports and responds to questions from the team; provides one-on-one coaching, as needed
• Trains and/orients new hires to standard protocols, policies, and procedures in the clinic
• Assists management with monitoring team performance and facilitates additional team training
• Provides department improvement recommendations to management, including policies and procedures
• Engages with patients to schedule appointments and obtain information to determine priority appointment scheduling needs
• Notifies patients of appointments and updates changes as needed
• Ensures schedules are accurate; distributes next day schedules to designated areas
• Provides reception and registration for patient, including verifications and co-pays
• Performs check-out processes and communicates treatment plan and costs
• Manages cash control procedures and daily cash reports
• Screen and redirect incoming calls and relay messages
• Generates department work activity statistics
• Creates PSR schedule for the clinic each month
• Performs monthly office supply inventory and orders supplies
• Performs administrative tasks for the clinic
• Demonstrates courteous behavior and accuracy; supports patient health outcomes
