Job summary

Amentum seeks a Supervisory Paralegal to lead paralegal staff on a DOJ project in Washington, DC. This full‑time, onsite role directs major research efforts and in‑courtroom support to ensure timely, high‑quality work.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in litigation paralegal roles, advanced legal research skills, and proficiency with LEXIS/Westlaw; prior experience with automated litigation tools and supervisory capabilities is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate or JD; or current ABA‑accredited law school student with at least one year of study.
  • At least three years of litigation paralegal or related project experience, including trial work.
  • One year of automated litigation support experience and supervisory capabilities.
  • Experience with financial crimes/non‑compliance cases is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal/state courts, legal research methods, and major research tools.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and supervises paralegals and support staff on major projects to meet contract and attorney requirements.
  • Performs complex legal research and develops case file tracking systems.
  • Coordinates with trial staff, expert witnesses, and litigation consultants.
  • Ensures access to DOJ libraries and research facilities and maintains quality control checks.
  • Interacts with COR, Government Case Manager, clients, and opposing counsel as needed.
