Job summary

Magna Exteriors in Troy, MI is seeking a Paint Process Manager to lead and optimize paint process operations, automation, and control systems across manufacturing facilities. You will drive process development, robotics integration, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver high-quality finishes and efficient production.

The role requires extensive experience in paint processing, robotics, and manufacturing management, with collaboration across mechanical, electrical, and robotics teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or related field; or 7 years of equivalent experience in paint processing and robotics technologies.
• 7+ years of manufacturing management experience with a focus on paint automation, robotics, and process control.
• Strong knowledge of paint application systems, robotics integration, and automation controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize paint process parameters, ensuring quality and compliance with control plans.
• Oversee automation hardware, robotics, sensors, and control systems across facilities.
• Develop operating parameters for new and existing products to maximize transfer and quality.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and improve control systems and automation.
• Manage equipment selection, installation, and commissioning for new facilities or upgrades.
• Drive KPI benchmarking: throughput, yields, cycle time, uptime, and material usage.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives including FMEAs and TS16949 documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to production teams and maintenance personnel.
