Job summary

Accounting Search in DuPage County, IL seeks a Lead Packaging Maintenance Mechanic for our high-speed food production lines. This role is on-site and leads maintenance on baggers, sealers, scales, and related equipment.

You will diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults, rebuild machinery, and mentor junior technicians. AAS or equivalent preferred; 5–10+ years in food packaging maintenance; CMMS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of maintenance experience in high-speed food packaging or related.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting without full electrician credentials.
• Experience maintaining and rebuilding packaging machinery (baggers, FFS, sealers).
• Willingness to coach junior technicians and mentor peers.

Responsibilities

• Keep high-speed packaging and processing equipment running across a multi-line plant.
• Rebuild and refurbish machinery to like-new condition during planned or emergency downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults and fix them without external help.
• Handle electrical troubleshooting on the lines daily.
• Teach and mentor junior technicians.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks and log in CMMS.
• Work with operations and engineering on improvement projects.
