Job summary

RMS Energy is seeking a P&C Field Technician to support protection and control operations through hands-on testing, maintenance, and commissioning of transmission and distribution power equipment in field environments.

Travel will be frequent (approx. 70%), and you will work with relay systems, pilot channels, and substation controls while ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance in high-voltage environments. This role offers growth within a fast-moving utility services organization.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of substations, relays, and protection schemes.
• Experience with field testing, calibration, and commissioning.
• Strong documentation and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform protection and control relay testing, including voltage/current inputs and metering verification.
• Troubleshoot and repair substation relays and control systems.
• Commission new substations and related equipment, including pilot channels and communications gear.
• Document work accurately and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
