Job summary

Workers United - SEIU seeks a Lead Organizer to join campaigns organizing workers at their worksites, industries, and communities. This role focuses on building power, training organizers, and coordinating with union staff to advance organizing efforts across geographies.

The Lead Organizer will lead teams, manage deadlines, and maintain data while collaborating with allied organizations to win better conditions for workers. Travel throughout the year is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of labor or community organizing experience.
• Knowledge of NLRA as relates to organizing campaigns.
• Strong leadership, training, and motivating others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computers including social media, Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead external organizing campaigns and develop worker leaders across geographies.
• Build strong member participation across one or more geographies.
• Lead staff and member teams; manage goals, roles, processes and relationships.
• Train volunteer member organizers and Organizing Committee members.
• Collaborate with allied organizations to improve conditions in the industries Workers United organizes.
• Maintain accurate data on all organizing activity.
• Support collective bargaining and dispute resolution as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
