The Indian Health Service is seeking a Supervisory Optometrist to lead and manage the Optometry Department, deliver comprehensive eye care, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality patient outcomes for Native American communities served.

This leadership role emphasizes coordination with physicians, program development, and program compliance while maintaining clinical excellence and service delivery in a federal healthcare setting.

Formación

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program.
• Current, full, unrestricted optometry license in the U.S. or territory.
• One year of specialized experience in providing eye care and supervising staff.

Responsabilidades

• Provides direct patient care for optometry patients through exams and evaluation of ocular health.
• Provides emergency eye care and management of ophthalmic trauma.
• Coordinates medical eye care with physicians and refer as needed.
• Assists with screening programs, school programs and diabetic retinopathy.
• Provides direct supervision and direction for the Optometry Department including evaluations and budgeting.
• Manages physical demands including walking, sitting, standing, reaching and bending.
