Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie is seeking a Superintendent to join our Charlotte team, with work possible in Charlotte or Carolina projects. The role emphasizes safety, coordination with owners, designers, and subcontractors, and overall project management from planning to execution.

The position requires 5–10 years of relevant construction experience, the ability to read drawings, and strong leadership and communication skills. Travel to project sites across the Carolinas is possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; 5–10 years of relevant construction experience.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal rules including OSHA.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing to top management, owners, subcontractors, and other outside entities.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• People management skills and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Advocates safety as the top priority on the jobsite and enforces safety plans and policies.
• Supervises, directs, and coordinates management of construction projects with owners, designers, and subcontractors.
• Develops and implements production plans with budget goals in mind.
• Assists Project Manager in preparing project status reports.
• Keeps daily, progress, and compliance reports and logs.
• Reviews plans and drawings per contract documents and coordinates shop drawings.
• Procures tools and materials to meet schedule.
• Determines staffing levels and timing for each phase.
• Recruits and directs onsite field personnel per HR policies.
• Prepares payroll submissions and HR/payroll documentation.
• Resolves complaints and grievances with HR/legal aid.
• Coordinates with engineers, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers to improve construction methods.
• Ensures schedules with staffing and procurement are followed.
• Supervises subcontractors to ensure compliance with terms.
• Enforces company policies and coordinates regulatory inspections.
