Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Field Service Engineer in the United States to serve as the technical authority for installation, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced drive architectures. You will lead onsite projects with a high degree of autonomy and provide expert-level troubleshooting for complex drive and control systems.

You will travel up to 85% of the time, often on short notice, and must pass BOSIET.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with hands-on commissioning experience.
Associate’s degree with significant commissioning experience.
High school diploma with extensive commissioning experience.

Responsibilities

Commissioning & Startup: Lead end-to-end commissioning of advanced drive systems and power electronics.
Power Electronics Diagnostics: Troubleshoot MV/LV drive systems with scopes and diagnostic tools.
System Integration: Validate Profibus/Modbus/IEC 61850 and tune control loops.
Complex Troubleshooting: Diagnose onsite, port visits, or at sea.
Technical Advisory: Train customers on operations, optimization, and maintenance.
Service Growth: Identify opportunities for service, parts, and upgrades.
Engineering Compliance: Follow safety policies and maritime standards.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain service records and logs.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to maritime safety and security regulations.
