Job summary

GE Vernova, a leader in electrification systems, seeks a Technical Support Engineer for Level 2 engineering support of industrial drives, converters, and control systems. You will troubleshoot remotely and on-site, assist with commissioning and validation, and develop technical guides while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electrical Engineering and 3–5 years of relevant experience, plus travel up to 20% and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Power Electronics plus 5 years of experience, or Master’s with 3 years in electrical engineering.
• Experience with industrial drives, converters, or automation systems.
• Solid understanding of motor control concepts, drive topologies, and AC/DC converter systems.
• Familiarity with technical documentation such as schematics and troubleshooting procedures.
• Willingness to support off-hours and travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 technical support for GE Vernova PCS products including MV drives, grid-tied converters, DC systems, and PECe controllers.
• Troubleshoot complex issues remotely or on-site with Field Service Engineers and customers.
• Support commissioning and validation of power conversion systems (FAT/SAT).
• Develop and maintain technical instructions, service bulletins, and troubleshooting guides.
• Conduct root cause analysis for escalated issues and feed insights back to engineering and product teams.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Field Services.
• Participate in training, knowledge base development, and continuous improvement.
• Adhere to GE safety, quality, and cybersecurity protocols in all activities.
• Simulate Power Electronics behavior for marine propulsion, oil & gas, and other industrial applications.
• Write project artifacts like commissioning or maintenance instructions.
• Support Drive Commissioning.
