Job summary

Join Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group as a senior mechanical engineer focused on systems design, modification packages, and procurement documentation for nuclear plants. You will support analyses, vendor bid evaluations, and option studies while leading project teams.

The role is hybrid, requiring in-office work three days per week, with opportunities to visit client sites and interface directly with clients on engineering tasks and status.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 10+ years of experience in the power industry
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants
• PE license is beneficial, but not required

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings for nuclear plant systems
• Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations for plant modifications and operation
• Prepare or review technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment
• Study modifications and options for operating nuclear plants
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes
• Visit client offices or plant sites to interface with the client and present engineering tasks and status
• Lead engineering project teams
