Job summary

Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group seeks a senior electrical engineering leader to guide multi-discipline projects at the Duane Arnold Energy Center. You will drive design, calculations, and change packages, coordinating with clients and internal teams to deliver reliable electrical systems.

The role requires a BSEE from an ABET-accredited program, 10+ years in nuclear electrical design, and 3+ years leading a design group.

Qualifications

• BSEE degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 10+ years’ experience in design of electrical systems for nuclear power plants.
• 3+ years leading an engineering design group through all phases of a project design.
• Experience in selecting equipment, materials, and preparing design change packages, calculations, and specifications.
• Experience as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
• Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution (transformers, generators, motors, relays).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to project team members and client.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Detail oriented approach to work.
• Capable of badge for unescorted access to a nuclear station.
• PE Licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts by group members to ensure successful completion of electrical engineering deliverables within scope, budget, and client expectations.
• Initiate and convey scope of work to group members; define deliverables (calcs, specs, drawings, design changes).
• Review status and track progress; conduct routine status meetings and submit progress reports.
• Coordinate completion of project deliverables and interface with other disciplines.
• Lead detailed design phases across all electrical engineering aspects; develop scope, cost estimates, and schedules for complex nuclear modifications.
• Develop proposals for complex electrical modifications at nuclear plants.
• Provide technical oversight for design change packages, including calculations and equipment specifications.
• Interface with the client to validate scope and ensure satisfaction; mentor the group; identify opportunities for follow-on work.
