Basso, located beneath The Cheshire, seeks a Shift Manager to act as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the GM. You will oversee daily operations, lead a fast-paced team, and ensure top-tier service, safety, and financial accuracy on a busy gastropub floor.

The role emphasizes on-floor leadership, team development, and guest satisfaction, with opportunities for growth within The Cheshire family of restaurants. Night and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous supervisory or management experience in restaurants or bars is required.
• Strong background in high-volume operations (gastropub or similar) preferred.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of alcohol service laws and best practices.
• Availability for night and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Manage shift operations for a high-volume bar and restaurant.
• Team Supervision & Development: Lead, coach, and support staff to deliver great hospitality.
• Guest Experience: Deliver and model superior guest service; handle guest concerns promptly.
• Financial Oversight: Balance daily finances, deposits, and reconcile cash/credit; monitor labor costs.
• Inventory & Compliance: Manage extensive beer, wine, and liquor inventory; uphold safety and quality standards.
• Leadership Presence: Lead from the floor; support team during peak rushes to maintain flow.
