Job summary

Rocket Lab, the end-to-end space company behind Neutron, is seeking a Senior Vehicle Integration Engineer to lead integration, test, and launch activities for the Neutron vehicle. The role partners with engineering and operations to build and implement ground support tooling, procedures, and checkouts that enable safe, efficient processing and launch of flight hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
• 5+ years of hardware build and test experience for launch vehicles.
• Ability to author comprehensive work instructions and procedures for assembly, test, and launch.
• Experience interfacing with mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop con‑ops and ground support tooling for Neutron component handling.
• Develop and execute procedures for integrating flight hardware and ground support equipment.
• Support day‑to‑day execution of 1st/2nd stage integration, propellant, avionics, and AFTS.
• Develop and refine inspection, repair/retrofit, assembly and system test procedures.
• Design high-level vehicle maintenance architecture including build flow and test operations.
• Develop and execute vehicle system level checkouts for initial and flown launch vehicle and components.
• Create work procedures and document non‑conformances into actionable items.
• Maintain integrated planning documents including configurations and scope.
• Design and develop tools and hardware for vehicle processing.
• Develop, build, and maintain Neutron processing facilities.
• Collaborate with management and peers daily to meet goals.
• Manage multiple priorities toward common project goals.
