Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a Lead Medium Voltage Switchgear & UPS Field Engineer to lead commissioning, startup, testing, maintenance, and emergency service of critical power systems at customer sites.

The role requires a strong technical background in medium-voltage electrical power systems (1kV+), switchgear, UPS, and related equipment. The Lead Field Engineer will mentor field personnel, coordinate with customers and internal teams, ensure safety and compliance with NFPA 70E and

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical field service, commissioning, testing or maintenance experience.
• Experience with medium-voltage systems rated 1kV or higher; 5kV–35kV preferred.
• Experience with medium-voltage switchgear, breakers, relays, transformers, and distribution.
• Experience with UPS systems and critical-power equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and power-system issues.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E.
• Willingness to travel, nights, weekends, and on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead field commissioning, startup, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response for medium-voltage systems.
• Test and verify medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, protective devices, UPS, batteries, PDUs, STS, transformers, and related equipment.
• Develop test procedures, commissioning plans, test scripts and test reports.
• Mentor field engineers and technicians and coordinate with customers and internal teams.
• Ensure safety and compliance with project specs, OEM requirements, and electrical standards.
• Prepare field service reports and commissioning documentation promptly.
• Travel regionally with some national assignments as needed.
