Job summary

Mainspringenergy is seeking a senior power systems engineer to own the technical architecture of modular power skids for utility-scale deployments and data centers. Qualifications

• Bachelor's/advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 24+ years of direct experience productizing complex, multi-disciplinary industrial systems
• Deep technical knowledge of power conversion systems: MV transformers, central inverters, switchgear, relays, and high-current busbar/cabling
• Experience driving engineering lifecycle of modular hardware systems with design-to-cost, supplier scaling, and configuration control
• Strong cross-functional leadership translating electrical/mechanical/operations requirements into manufacturable designs

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of modular power integration skids from concept through validation and manufacturing release
• Define skid-level power topology ensuring seamless integration of generators, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and energy storage
• Own detailed skid engineering decisions: hardware selection, layout, thermal management, protection, manufacturability, and field serviceability
• Collaborate with internal teams to extract and freeze comprehensive system requirements
• Direct and manage third-party design firms and external manufacturers as the primary technical contact
• Drive scalability and production readiness of larger skid configurations with suppliers
• Own the skid's cost target and drive design-to-cost trade-offs
• Develop a site design configuration tool specifying optimal inverter/skid configuration
