Job summary

Mainspring Energy seeks a senior electrical systems engineer to own the technical architecture of modular skid-based power plants, spanning MV transformers, central inverters, switchgear, and energy storage integration for utility-scale sites and data centers.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage third-party design partners, and drive design-for-manufacture to ensure production-ready, cost-effective configurations while meeting safety and grid standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 12+ years of direct experience productizing complex, multi-disciplinary industrial systems.
• Deep technical knowledge of power conversion systems, including MV transformers, central inverters, switchgear, protective relays, and high-current cabling.

Responsibilities

• Take full engineering ownership of Mainspring's next-generation modular power integration skids, translating system architectures into production-ready assets from concept through validation and manufacturing release.
• Define and own skid-level power topology for utility-scale and data center sites, ensuring seamless integration between generators, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and energy storage.
• Own detailed skid engineering decisions: hardware selection, layout, thermal management, environmental protection, manufacturability, and field serviceability.
• Partner with internal teams to extract, synthesize, and freeze comprehensive system requirements.
• Direct and manage third-party design firms and external manufacturers to align outputs with specs and quality standards.
• Drive scalability and production readiness of larger skid configurations with suppliers, enabling standardized hardware and cost optimization.
• Own the skid's cost target and drive design-to-cost trade-offs across hardware selection and supplier strategy.
• Develop a site design configuration tool specifying optimal inverter and skid configuration.
