Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks an Engineering Specialist to lead modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts for sensor and space-system architectures. You will develop tools, evaluate performance, and drive improvements across EO, radar, lidar, and related domains.

The role requires 6+ years’ leadership experience, strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, and FORTRAN, plus familiarity with Bitbucket, GitHub, JIRA, and Confluence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years leading technical teams and coordinating complex modeling and analysis tasks.
• Strong experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis of space systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Willingness to travel 5–10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead tool development for modeling and analysis studies of sensors and system-of-systems architectures.
• Collaborate with team members to perform tool development and support systems engineering studies.
• Design modeling/simulation strategies leveraging modeling/analysis tools framework.
• Develop and evaluate metrics for sensors including EO, radar, and related concepts.
• Develop and implement algorithms for tracking, data-fusion, and sensor architectures.
• Lead projects to improve existing modeling and simulation tools.
• Create novel simulations to support interdisciplinary analyses.
