Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Project Leader in Modeling & Simulation Engineering to guide cross‑mission killchain modeling and analysis efforts. You will architect and develop in‑house tools, translate customer needs into simulations, and deliver integrated results across aerospace programs.

Ideal candidates bring extensive Python and C++ experience, TS clearance, and a track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams in dynamic environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (aerospace, astronautical, mechanical, or software), computer science, physics, operations research, or closely related technical field from an accredited school.
  • 6 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments.
  • Experience with OPIR and RADAR system detection and tracking.
  • Demonstrated strength in architecture and sensor-level simulations and evaluation.
  • Experience executing end-to-end mission performance assessments with emphasis in modeling remote sensing systems, tracking, and estimation.
  • Technical understanding of space operations, red vs blue simulations, military utility and capability drawdown, killchain effectiveness, enterprise architecture resiliency, and/or command and control (C2).
  • Advanced experience with Python and C++.
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering, including modern software development methodologies, tools and processes, distributed frameworks, API development, and cloud computing.
  • Experience leading a team to accomplish an objective.
  • Demonstrated high level of creativeness, initiative, and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work on dynamic assignments and adapt to changing customer expectations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Current Top Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an integration leader and spokesperson for the Cross-Mission Effectiveness Department, coordinating across multiple Aerospace program offices to connect customer requirements with Aerospace capabilities and to identify opportunities for new partnerships.
  • Work closely with cross-mission killchain analysis focused program offices and customers to translate their program needs into modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks.
  • Independently coordinate and lead the architecture and development of an in-house killchain modeling tool to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent team deliveries.
  • Use and contribute to the development of in-house and commercial- and government-off-the-shelf engineering analysis tools and analysis products.
  • Collaborate across technical organizations to achieve optimal solutions and efficiencies.
  • Develop and present briefings and reports for program offices and customers.
  • Mentor junior staff members on technical and professional development subjects and contribute to a learning environment where it is encouraged to share ideas and feedback.
  • Hold self and team accountable for results and remove barriers for teams to achieve objectives.
  • Travel occasionally as required.
