Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering for CoCounsel Legal Mobile & Desktop Apps. You will lead two engineering teams across iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac, defining architecture choices and hiring engineers to build the first native experiences.

You will partner with Product and Design to ship high-quality features, integrate with backend services, and establish standards for testing, CI/CD, and performance across platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience shipping production mobile or desktop applications in a professional context.
• Understanding of mobile and desktop engineering challenges, architecture patterns, distribution, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow two engineering teams - Mobile and Desktop - hiring and developing engineers across both platforms from the ground up.
• Define the engineering approach for both mobile and desktop, making foundational technology choices and architecture patterns.
• Deliver CoCounsel Legal's first mobile and desktop applications, collaborating with Product and Design to ship high-quality experiences for iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac.
• Integrate deeply with the CoCounsel backend, working with Agent Core and AI Platform teams to surface capabilities and context across surfaces.
• Own quality, performance, and reliability across both platforms, establishing testing, CI/CD, crash reporting, and performance monitoring standards.
• Collaborate with the Application Experience pillar to ensure a coherent product experience across all surfaces.
• Represent mobile and desktop engineering perspectives in planning and prioritization discussions with Product, Design, and senior engineering leadership.
