Tenet Healthcare seeks a Lead Medical Lab Scientist in Microbiology to oversee specimen processing, testing, and reporting with advanced instrument troubleshooting. The role includes guiding staff evaluations, maintaining manuals, and ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple Detroit-area facilities.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or equivalent, and registry eligibility with major certifying bodies within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in medical technology as per CLIA high complexity testing criteria.
• Registered or registry eligible with ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS within 12 months of hire.
• Experience or leadership responsibilities in a clinical laboratory setting.

Responsabilités

• Process and test specimens; review and report lab results; perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Provide input on staff evaluations and competency assessments; assist in hiring discussions.
• Serve as point of care coordinator for non-laboratory tests as requested.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure efficient lab operations and customer-oriented service.
