Job summary

Fivetran, Inc. is seeking an engineering manager to lead the Metadata team, owning discovery API, catalog, lineage and run history services that enable customers to understand and trust their data.

You will mentor engineers, drive delivery against the quarterly plan, improve reliability and latency for enterprise and multi-tenant environments, and collaborate closely with product and other teams.

Qualifications

• Experience managing and growing a software engineering team, including hiring and career development.
• Strong technical foundation to review designs and code, with architectural trade-offs in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of software engineers, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and 1:1s.
• Own project delivery for your team against the quarterly plan with reliable uptime and latency targets.
• Review designs and code and provide feedback grounded in the Metadata product area.
• Drive quality by addressing incidents, tech debt, and post-mortems within SLA targets.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to prioritize features and backlogs.
• Communicate engineering vision and progress to cross-functional teams.
• Ensure FDLC processes are followed and foster a high-trust culture.
• Mentor engineers to grow autonomy and career development.
• Encourage use of AI tooling to accelerate development and SDLC artifacts.
