Fivetran, Inc. in Denver, CO seeks a senior software engineer to own the metadata layer of the dbt platform. You will design and deliver end-to-end features across discovery API, catalog, lineage, and run history, building scalable backend services and reusable components.

You will write solid code, review peers, and collaborate with product, QE, and SRE teams. Expect heavy emphasis on performance, security, and observability in a fast-paced cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software industry experience, building backend services and reusable components.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud computing concepts.
• Ability to write well-structured, performant, and well-tested code.
• Ability to lead feature-level software and design work, and explain trade-offs.
• Experience with code reviews, design, troubleshooting, and testing.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, or C#.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and containers.
• Familiar with CI tools and observability platforms.
• Fluent in using AI code assistants and coding agents.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement features and performance improvements across Metadata team's services.
• Develop, maintain, and test high-quality, maintainable code with optimized paths.
• Write technical designs and clearly explain trade-offs.
• Review designs and pull requests, providing constructive feedback.
• Improve test coverage with unit tests and reduce tech debt.
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in post-mortems.
• Plan features, break into tasks, and contribute to sprints.
• Collaborate with product managers, QE, and customer support to deliver quality.
• Participate in on-call rotation and consider security in work.
• Leverage AI tooling to accelerate development and SDLC artifacts.
