Responsibilities

• Ensures the implementation and maintenance of quality, efficiency, and safety in the section by meeting accreditation standards (CAP, AABB, TJC) on a continual basis.
• Demonstrates initiative in tracking and resolving problems; checks the accuracy of processes, test methods, and instruments before reporting results to the medical record.
• Assigns work for the section and assists in workload evaluations; delegates authority to ensure timely completion of work.
• Participates in writing and reviewing policies and procedures.
• Performs competency assessments to ensure teammates meet accreditation complexity requirements before reporting patient results and ongoing thereafter.
