Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform high-quality clinical testing, adhere to QA guidelines, and support equipment and workflow in a fast-paced lab.

You will prepare reagents, manage supplies to minimize waste, exercise clinical judgment to troubleshoot with appropriate teams, ensure accreditation readiness (CAP/TJC/OSHA), and collaborate with leadership to improve patient care and lab operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MT/MLS (ASCP) registry eligible.
• MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire.
• Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements (CAP, TJC, OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in testing procedures and follows QA guidelines; documents corrective action for non-conforming events.
• Prepares reagents, maintains supplies, and manages inventory to reduce waste/expense.
• Exercises clinical judgment to prioritize and troubleshoot test systems via appropriate department channels.
• Assists with procedures and documentation related to accreditation; adheres to CAP/TJC/OSHA requirements.
• Maintains clear, real-time communication with leadership about issues affecting patient care or lab operations.
• Participates in planning and implementing change through staff meetings and projects.
• Participates in competency assessment programs where qualified.
