Job summary

Atrium Health seeks a qualified Laboratory Technologist to perform clinical testing in a fast-paced lab. You will follow QA guidelines, prepare reagents, and manage inventory while documenting corrective actions for non-conforming events.

You will use clinical judgment to troubleshoot test systems, ensure accreditation compliance (CAP, TJC, OSHA), and communicate with leadership on issues affecting patient care and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MT/MLS or equivalent registry eligible.
• MT (ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire.
• Proficiency in testing procedures and quality assurance guidelines; adhere to CAP/TJC/OSHA regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure testing procedures follow quality assurance guidelines and document corrective actions for non-conforming events.
• Prepare reagents and manage test supplies to reduce waste and expense.
• Troubleshoot test systems with specialists via hotline when needed to resolve issues or arrange service.
• Review and revise procedures to meet accreditation requirements (CAP, TJC, OSHA).
• Maintain clear real-time shift communications with leadership about issues impacting patient care or department operations.
• Participate in planning and implementation of changes through staff meetings and projects.
• Participate in competency assessment programs where qualified.
