Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Technologist at 60982 Carolinas Medical Center - Core Lab: Chemistry. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a schedule predominantly Monday–Friday and occasional weekend/holiday rotation.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of experience, ASCP registration, and strong leadership and quality assurance skills. Expect involvement in continuous improvement, training, and safety-focused operations in a busy lab environment.

Qualifications

• ASCP registered Medical Technologist or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to lead and develop teammates.
• Ability to operate equipment used in the lab/area of responsibility.
• Strong familiarity with quality management and control systems.
• Good problem solving and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel).

Responsibilities

• Actively looks for ways to improve team performance, aiming for higher quality, better service, increased productivity, and reduced spending.
• Ensures testing quality in own area and documents issues with countermeasures.
• Develops standard work and trains teammates.
• Audits processes and coaches staff when standards are not followed.
• Supports continuous flow of specimens and manages use/storage of materials.
• Maintains 5S and safety with proper PPE usage.
• Monitors team productivity and provides issue resolution and support as needed.
• Covers gaps due to calls, time off, or absences.
• Communicates abnormal conditions to leadership and fosters team building.
