Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time laboratory professional to support the Pineville Lab team. The role involves ensuring quality and safety to meet accreditation standards, with day shifts and rotating weekends/holidays.

A Bachelor’s degree with MT/ASCP certifications is required, along with the ability to track, resolve issues, and review results before reporting to medical records. The position offers a 40-hour work week with a pay range of $35.50–$53.25 per hour, sign-on bonus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with MT/MLS/HTL/CT ASCP or equivalent required.
• Experience ensuring quality, efficiency and safety with accreditation standards (CAP, AABB, TJC) in a clinical lab.
• Strong problem-solving and process review abilities to ensure accuracy before reporting results.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the implementation and maintenance of quality, efficiency, and safety in the section by meeting accreditation standards (CAP, AABB, TJC, etc) on a continual basis.
• Demonstrates initiative in tracking and resolving problems, and continually checks the accuracy of processes, test methods, instruments in the section, including the review of results and clerical errors before they are reported to the medical record
• Assigns work for section and assists in workload evaluations as needed, delegating authority and responsibility as appropriate to ensures that work assigned to members of the section is completed and reported in a timely manner.
• Participates in writing/reviewing policies and procedures.
• Performs competency assessments for the section, ensuring that all teammates meet accreditation complexity requirements prior to reporting patient results and ongoing thereafter.

Education

Bachelor's degree with MT(ASCP)/MLS(ASCP)/HTL(ASCP)/CT(ASCP) certification or equivalent
