Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Lead Medical Technologist to oversee Core Lab Generalist operations on the evening shift. This role coordinates staff, ensures quality control, and interprets complex test results across chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, five years of experience with leadership, and ASCP MT certification preferred; strong communication and supervisory skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of related laboratory experience with leadership.
• ASCP MT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work of others in the laboratory section.
• Perform and interpret complex tests across core chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis.
• Provide guidance to MTs and technicians in interpretation of test results.
• Develop and validate new tests and quality procedures.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and quality control.
• Instruct staff and students in lab procedures.
• Oversee staffing and scheduling for lab benches and shifts.
