Job summary

Mercy Health’s Perrysburg Medical Center seeks a Lead Medical Lab Scientist to perform comprehensive lab testing and deliver high-quality results to physicians. This role supports the Technical Specialist and ensures efficient daily operations within the Core Laboratory - Perrysburg.

The candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in a CLIA-approved program, state-of-the-art instrument experience, and MLS certification or eligibility within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry from a CLIA-approved program.
• MLS certification or eligible; must achieve certification within 12 months from hire date (RSFH requirement).
• 2 years of clinical lab experience required; 5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs the duties of a Medical Lab Scientist.
• Assists with implementation of new procedures and policies.
• Coordinates proficiency testing to meet deadlines and accuracy standards.
• Recommends system changes to improve workflow efficiency.
• Manages schedules and updates time allocations for daily operations.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities.
