Job summary

Mercy Health Perrysburg Medical Center is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant to perform pre-analytical and analytical laboratory duties, including registering and accessioning orders, verifying specimen acceptability, and collecting specimens as needed. You will also assist with phlebotomy and specimen transport to ensure specimen integrity.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Associates in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community with excellent customer service.
• Collect blood specimens and perform venipuncture.
• Support technologists with instrument setup, reagents and sample processing.
• Identify and communicate instrument malfunctions to appropriate staff.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
