Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of Medical Assistant experience required or associate’s degree or higher in lieu of Medical Assistant experience.
• Proficient with EMR systems, clinical protocols, and patient flow best practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform all MA I and MA II responsibilities, including patient rooming, clinical support, documentation, and care coordination.
• Acts as a mentor and preceptor to Medical Assistants and student externs.
• Serve as a team resource on clinical workflows, EMR use, and department standards.
• Monitors daily patient flow and address operational challenges.
• Resolves immediate patient concerns and service recovery, escalates where and when appropriate.
• Supports provider efficiency and team coordination throughout the day.
• Assists with onboarding, training, and reinforcing a positive patient experience, quality and safety protocols.
• Liaise with managers and clinical teams to address issues and improve workflows.
• Participates in or leads small-scale projects, quality initiatives, or workflow optimization efforts.
• Reinforce clinical protocols, infection control practices, and departmental policies.
• Helps support staff scheduling and float coverage as needed.
