Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to mentor Medical Assistants and non-licensed staff, while delivering hands-on clinical support within a busy practice. The role includes supervising daily workflows, improving patient access, and upholding high standards of care under clinical leadership.

Responsibilities include pre-visit planning, patient check-in, Epic charting, vital signs, phlebotomy, injections and assisting with procedures; coordinating tests and referrals; and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2–3 years of Medical Assisting experience.
• EPIC experience is a plus; Phlebotomy skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train other Medical Assistants and non-licensed staff.
• Lead daily office operations and coordinate workflow.
• Prepare patients for exams and greet them professionally.
• Record patient information in Epic and maintain accurate charts.
• Perform MA duties: vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and specimen handling.
• Coordinate referrals, outside tests and transportation as needed.
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment and OSHA-compliant procedures.
