Amazon.com Services LLC in Richmond, VA is seeking a Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Technician to lead service teams, design solutions, and manage projects for automated packaging and distribution equipment.

You will train technicians, oversee vendors, and develop work plans while advancing safety and reliability of MHE. The role requires hands-on expertise in controls, ladder diagrams, and robotics systems, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Flexible schedule/shift/work area including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 4+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• 4+ years of repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment experience.
• 4+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 4+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience.
• 4+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE) experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee material handling equipment (MHE) and facility equipment, such as Fire Life Safety (FLS) systems.
• Lead a team of service technicians and develop training plans, as well as oversee vendors making planned and emergency repairs.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, etc.
• Create and close out work orders with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used, as well as develop job plans for emergency repair of critical assets.
• Move up to 49lbs, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, climb ladders and gangways safely, and perform regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
