Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead rotor design efforts within the Military Development Fan/LPC Design team. You will partner with IPT to drive improvements, address technical issues, support production ramp, and collaborate with multiple disciplines.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with 5+ years of design experience in aerospace hardware, plus ability to read blueprints and understand manufacturing methods.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with 5+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with aerospace hardware, reading blueprints, and manufacturing methods.
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Support rotor design during mature production and address module and part level questions for Fan/LPC hardware.
• Support PW1500G and PW1900G fleet through production support, development engine build support, fleet support, and hardware redesign.
• Identify areas to expand tolerances, improve part manufacturability, support MFG with vendors, and implement engineering changes.
• Work on Class II, Must Conform, and Production Alteration type projects.
• Support Production and Quality Notifications, create PPT packages, perform non-conformance analysis, coordinate with disciplines for disposition and closure.
