Job summary

IMEG, an employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer in Charlotte, NC. You will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complex projects and collaborate with senior staff on larger initiatives in the building design sector.

You will work on mechanical system analysis, design, and oversight, manage project budgets, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• PE license required.
• 5 years of building design consulting experience minimum; 6 preferred.
• Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts for technical plans and specs.
• Strong technical and analytical skills in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Create detailed designs, specs, and calculations to code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and build professional relationships.
• Plan, budget, and schedule projects to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Provide in-process design reviews and ensure IMEG quality control processes.
• Mentor and supervise team members and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
