Job summary

Amazon seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to own subsystems and drive automated material handling layouts for logistics network expansion. You will deliver 3D models, manage clash detection, and coordinate with electrical, controls, and structural teams to ensure seamless integration.

You will mentor junior engineers, validate calculations, and support field installation and commissioning, aligning with safety and project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) beneficial.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360) required.
• Strong communication with leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior engineers.
• Experience with complex automated material handling systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop sub system layouts for automated material handling systems with minimal oversight.
• Independently select and specify conveyor types, third-party equipment, and systems to meet project requirements.
• Coordinate with electrical, controls, and structural engineers for integrated design solutions.
• Deliver complete 3D models and manage clash detection for project areas.
• Execute mechanical deliverables, schedules, and quality standards.
• Lead installation support and commissioning activities for projects.
