Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to own the mechanical design of automated fulfillment center projects, from concept through installation, in Nashville. You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive safe, efficient project delivery.

You will perform subsystem layouts, select equipment, manage schedules, and produce installation packages while ensuring design standards and safety compliance across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with material handling projects is preferred.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop subsystems for automated material handling with minimal oversight.
• Coordinate with electrical, controls, and structural engineers for integrated designs.
• Deliver complete 3D models and manage clash detection for project areas.
• Lead on-site installation support and commissioning activities.
• Review calculations and mentor junior engineers on technical approaches.
