Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to own the mechanical design of automated fulfillment center projects, from concept through installation, in Springdale, OH. You will lead subsystem layouts, specify equipment, and collaborate with electrical, controls, and structural teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive delivery of mechanical deliverables, ensure safety and quality standards, and coordinate with construction teams to resolve field issues while meeting project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Experience in Design/Innovation, R&D, manufacturing, process or industrial engineering
• Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and mentor others

Responsibilities

• Own and develop subsystem layouts for automated material handling systems
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated design
• Deliver complete 3D models and clash detection
• Lead installation and commissioning support
• Mentor junior engineers and review work for technical direction
