Job summary

Raytheon in Woburn, MA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support Transportable Radar programs. This onsite role requires U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance, with potential domestic and international travel to suppliers and sites.

The role involves leading mechanical design, engineering analyses, and cross-functional teamwork across the product lifecycle for missiles and related systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of experience or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years.
• Experience creating, reviewing and interpreting technical documentation for hardware or tooling.
• Experience in mechanical design, advanced development, manufacturing or tooling processes.
• Experience in development, creation, release or updates of engineering drawings using 3D CAD.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Design innovative solutions across the full lifecycle for missiles and launchers, support equipment and electronics.
• Perform mechanical design analyses to ensure form, fit, and function.
• Lead small teams with cross-functional collaboration to resolve technical challenges.
• Provide support for product assembly and integration in factories and with suppliers (domestic and international).
• Lead a mechanical engineering team and collaborate with other disciplines to develop design solutions.
• Independently manage tasks to meet schedule, budget, and goals.
• Participate in design reviews and conduct trade studies for informed decisions.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
