Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for radar hardware design, integration and testing across the full product lifecycle. You will work with mechanical teams, interface with engineering disciplines, and ensure producibility from concept through delivery.

The role requires proven problem-solving, experience with military/aerospace hardware standards, and proficiency in Creo or similar 3D modeling tools. On-site positions are available in Marlborough, MA or Tewksbury, MA.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in the design of radar architecture or electronics packaging for military or aerospace or commercial applications.
  • Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T in practice.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize mechanical hardware design experience and knowledge with ruggedized structures, interconnects, cooling, electronics packaging and/or array integration.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems across the product life cycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of phased-array radars/electronics.
  • Create definitions of mechanical outlines and construction details, component selection and specification, drawings, layout, and final data package.
  • Lead design release into production with transition-to-production practices.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers across disciplines to meet schedule, cost, and technical goals.
