McKinstry in Seattle, WA seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to guide system design, coordinate with internal and external teams, and serve as the content owner for deliverables.

The role requires eight years of related experience, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and strong CAD/BIM proficiency. Energy modeling and LEED credentialing are preferred, with a focus on delivering projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of engineering experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; onsite construction experience acceptable.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Energy modeling experience preferred.
• Five (5) years in 2D/3D AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.
• MATLAB, VBA, Python, InDesign, IES-VE knowledge welcomed.
• Engineering in Training Certificate preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design tasks for mechanical systems and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Direct project team workload to deliver on time and on budget.
• Prepare engineering calculations and building information models.
• Provide energy and cost-saving design options.
• Attend meetings with customers and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with codes and project scope.
